Security and technical constraints

SECURITY

CHECK AUTHENTICATION PAGES

Before you sign into a page, remember to check the following three points:

  • The presence of a padlock
  • The spelling of the address for the website visited
  • The word “https” at the beginning of the name of the address
UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE REGULARLY

Check regularly that your browser tools are up-to-date, and as a priority:

  • Your operating system (e.g. Windows, Mac OSX, etc.)
  • Your internet browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.)
  • Your anti-virus
  • Your firewall
  • Your anti-malware and anti-spyware
WATCH OUT FOR SUSPICIOUS LINKS

One of the classic attacks aiming at deceiving the user in order to steal information or access their accounts, is to encourage them to click on a link placed in a message. If you have any suspicions, we strongly advise not to click on any link. If in doubt, simply delete the concerned mail(s). Copy the address into the browser address bar. It could be a malicious “phishing” link.

Fraudulent SMS or emails impersonating Societe Generale Luxembourg have previously been found. We remind you that Societe Generale Luxembourg will never contact you directly via SMS or email to request such information.

Useful reminder: If you think you may be the victim of online fraud, contact your personal banker.

USE PUBLIC WI-FI IN MODERATION

When using public Wi-Fi, limit your use to only one browser. Indeed, free networks are not as secure as your home connection: avoid logging into your accounts and never use public computers.

LOGGING OUT

Always click “Log out” to exit your eBanking space.
For security reasons, we remind you that your eBanking session automatically terminates after 10 minutes of inactivity on your part.
