Board of Directors
The Board of Directors approves the Group’s strategic directions and ensures their implementation. Composition of the Board aims for a balance between the experience and skills of its members and their independence, while respecting the parity, diversity and internationalisation of the Group.
Student at the National School of Administration (ENA - promotion Human Rights, 1979-81), he became in 1986 Technical Adviser in charge of tax affairs of Alain Juppé (Budget Minister) and Edouard Balladur (Minister of Economy and Finance). In 1995, he was appointed Director of the Cabinet of Prime Minister Edouard Balladur.
Advisor to the President then Administrative Director of Elf-Aquitaine, he is then, from 2000 to 2009 the Deputy Secretary General, the Secretary General from 2009 to 2015 and since 2015 the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Société Générale.
President of Societe Generale Luxembourgsince 2009, he is also Chairman of the tax committee (since 2001), the compliance committee (since 2011) and the fight against money laundering (since 2011) of the French Banking Federation (FBF).
Frédéric Surdon joined Societe Generale Group in 1995. After having worked from 1995 to 2000 in the Real Estate department of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SGCIB), Frédéric Surdon joined the structured financing team. In 2004, he became Deputy Head for Continental Europe and US for the structured financing, then Head for the same perimeter in 2006. From 2008 to 2013, he was COO of the Global Finance’s division (worldwide). In 2013, he was appointed as Global Head of Export Finance and in 2015 he became Global Head of Asset Finance since August 2023.
Frédéric Surdon was a member of SG Luxembourg’s Board of Directors since 2019.
He hold a MBA from ESSEC and in Civil Engineering from ESTP.
Marco CAMERONI is a Board Director representing employees since May 31, 2021.
He started his career in the banking sector in Italy as Credit Analyst within the International Department of the bank “Banca Popolare di Novara” until becoming deputy Director of the International Credit Department.
In 1997, he continued his career in Luxembourg with “Banca di Roma / Capitalia International” where he became head of the Commercial Department for Luxembourg and Monaco, as well as Secretary of the Board.
He joined the Private Banking Department of Société Générale Luxembourg in 2008 where he was in charge of managing the “Credit” unit as deputy Director. Since 2011, he held the position of Director of Wealth Planning Solutions and he is also a member of the Private Banking Executive Committee.
Marco CAMERONI graduated “cum laude” from the Catholic University of Milan in Economics and Banking and holds a Master’s degree in International Taxation Planning.
Bertrand Cozzarolo started his career in 2000 as a General Inspector of Finance at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance.
He joined Societe Generale in 2004 as a financial research officer. In 2006, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Group's Egyptian retail banking subsidiary, before being appointed deputy General Manager of Societe Generale Expressbank (Bulgaria) in 2009. He returned to France in 2011 as Chief of Staff to Frédéric Oudéa, Chairman and CEO of the Group.
From 2015 to 2021, he held different positions within Societe Generale French Retail Banking (BDDF) first as deputy Head of Strategy, Digital and Client Relationship, then as Deputy Head of Clients, Distribution and Marketing.
In January 2021, he took over as Head of Corporate Department (SMEs) in addition to his functions. Bertrand Cozzarolo is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and the École Nationale d’Administration in France.
Marie DOUCET is an Independent Director of Societe Generale Luxembourg since May 31, 2021.
She started her professional career at Societe Generale group in 1991 in the Financial Markets department in Paris after ten years within audit and accounting firms.
She held various positions within the Group such as Chief Financial Officer within diverse structures in France and abroad prior to becoming Director of Accounting Affairs. Her last position was Director of Human Resources and Head of SGSS Nantes office.
She graduated as a Chartered Accountant.
Marie DOUCET left the Group in July 2019 and as Director, goes on providing the Bank’s Board of Directors with her experience.
Emmanuel GASPARD is a Director representing employees since May 31, 2021.
He started his career at Societe Generale Luxembourg in 2002, first as Administrative Agent and since 2013, as Building Manager and Manager of the Dematerialization service.
He undertook accounting and sales studies.
Isabelle Goubin is an Independent Director of Societe Generale Luxembourg since May 31, 2021.
Mrs. Goubin has worked for fifteen years at the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). She was in charge of International and Regulatory Affairs, then deputy Head of the Banking Supervision department and finally, Advisor to the Director General.
Subsequently, she joined the Ministry of Finance where she was in charge of financial services policy for many years before being appointed Director of Treasury by the Government, a position she held for five years.
She holds a Master degree in Finance, a Master of Business Administration and a LL.M. International Business Law.
Mathilde Guérin began her career at Societe Generale in 1991 and held various positions within the investment bank and the Custody Services Department, where she managed transversal studies and project coordination. She participated in the analysis of all IT and operational aspects of the SGSS acquisition of UniCredit’s securities services in 2005. She was then appointed programme manager for the migration of Pioneer Asset Management’s Luxembourg funds. In 2008, Mathilde Guérin became Global Relationship Manager of Pioneer Asset Management, before being appointed Global Head of Sub-custody Network Management in 2011, followed by her appointment as Head of Product Engineering in 2016, in charge of developing SGSS products and solutions.
Mathilde Guérin is Head of Transformation and Technology delivery for SGSS since January 2020.
Mathilde is a graduate of the Ecole des Mines (Engineering School) in Saint-Etienne, France.
Alvaro Huete joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 1997 as Director of the Structured Finance department in Spain. He held several positions there before moving to London in 2007 as Deputy Head of Global Syndicate and was then appointed Global Head of Syndicate in 2010. In 2015, he was appointed Deputy Head of Global Finance and Head of Global Finance for the United Kingdom. Alvaro Huete was appointed Deputy Head of Global Banking and Advisory in July 2019. Prior to joining the Group, Alvaro spent three years at Nomura, firstly in Madrid as Director of the Iberian Desk and then in London as Director of the Corporate Finance Group. He also previously held various roles in the investment banking division of Banco Urquijo. Alvaro Huete has been a member of Societe Generale Group Management Committee since June 2016. Alvaro Huete holds a degree in Economics from CUNEF in Madrid and a Master in Business Administration from IESE in Madrid.
Chief Operating Officer of Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS) since January 2022.
Christophe has been with Societe Generale for over 10 years, having joined in 2009 as Deputy Global Head of Strategy & Corporate Development, for its wholesale division. In 2012, he was promoted to Global Head of Strategy & Corporate Development where he led various acquisitions and strategic projects. He was then appointed Global Co-Head of Prime Services in 2015, and later Global Head of Prime Services in 2018.
Since late 2019 till early 2022, Christophe has been responsible for Societe Generale’s activities within the UK, where he led the significant transformation of its businesses ahead of Brexit and refocused efforts on sustainable developments.
Christophe started his career at Boston Consulting Group, where he worked as a Principal in the Paris office for 8 years leading numerous strategy assignments in the financial institution and energy sectors.
Didier Mouget is an Independant Director of Société Générale Bank & Trust since June 2019.
He has achieved his career mainly within PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg, which he contributed to develop, from its creation until it reached 2700 staff members, and which he directed as Managing Partner for the last 9 years of his career.
He is graduated of HEC Liège – Business and Finance.
Frédéric Roveda is a Director representing employees since the 16 November 2017. He has an IT degree.
He has 20 years of experience in the IT field, acquired in France and in Luxembourg.
Anne-Sophie Steiner is Director representing employees of Société Générale Luxembourg since September 15th, 2021.
She started her career in SG Luxembourg group in 2006 as Commercial Assistant Private Equity and Real Estate and is since 2013 the Head of Administrative and Financial department of SGPWM (Societe Generale Private Wealth Management).
She holds a Master degree in Business Law and a Master in Business Administration.
Authorised Management
The Authorised Management of the Bank consists of the Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy CEO in charge of General Secretary, Risks, Compliance and Controls and the Deputy CEO in charge of Resources. The Authorised Management of the Bank is in charge of the effective, sound and prudent day-to-day management.
Frédéric Surdon joined Societe Generale Group in 1995. Anne de Kouchkovsky was appointed General Secretary of Societe Generale Luxembourg since 1st of February 2022.
Anne has spent all her career in Societe Generale Group. She was until recently, the Chief Risk Officer and member of the Management Board of Rosbank (Russian subsidiary of the Group). Before that, from 2012 to February 2018, she was Deputy Head then Head of Operational Risk of the Group. Before joining the Risk Department in 2012, Anne has spent 20 years within the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Group: from 2009 to 2012 she was in the Aircraft Finance team where she joined after holding various positions within the Capital Markets Division, in Syndicate, Sales and Origination teams.
Anne is a graduate from ESCP with a major in finance and a minor in corporate law.
After a first work experience in CACIB, Peggy joined Societe Generale in 2004. She occupied various positions as a back and middle office manager for the Exotic Stock Derivatives activities.
In 2011, she became the worldwide Manager of the middle office teams in charge of structured products, as well as the fees team. In 2013, she became the worldwide Manager of the middle office teams in charge of exotic products, stock derivatives and fixed income. During that time, she obtained the certification ISO 9001 for the EMTN and Warrant chains, making SC CIB the first investment bank to receive the certification.
In 2017, she is appointed as worldwide Manager of middle offices and client support for the Financial Market Management (MARK). She contributed to the Agile@Scale transformation by defining the framework for each class of asset. She conducted a review of the organization for each function, which aimed at reaching a worldwide convergence of the processes, whilst also interacting constantly with the business, the internal partners, and the regulators. When the entity in charge of IT and Operations for the Equity Cash and Derivatives activities (GBSU/EQD) was created in 2019, Peggy was appointed as worldwide Manager of operations and the Exotic and Flows IT systems. She contributed to the implementation of SMEs, which eased the collaboration between IT teams, operational teams, and the business.
During her career, Peggy tackled numerous projects of IT transformation and optimization (Six Sigma, Exo One project of automatization of the structured product chain FO-BO, decommissioning of OFE Montage etc), either as project manager or as sponsor.
Peggy has 20 years of experience in the management of worldwide teams and developed her expertise in organization transformation, sponsorship of strategic projects and management. She holds a Diplôme d’études supérieure spécialisées (DESS), delivered by the Université Clermont-Auvergne, in market finance.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is the senior executive management committee responsible for elaborating strategic and transversal orientations of the Bank. Ultimate decisions remain under the responsibility of the Authorised Management.

Jean-Gabriel is Head of Risk in Societe Generale Luxembourg, effective July, 1st 2024.
Jean-Gabriel Albigot joined Societe Generale as a quantitative analyst in 1998. Following an external experience in reinsurance, Jean-Gabriel re-joined Societe Generale as part of the GBIS structuring teams in 2005, before becoming Head of the BDDF financial engineering team in 2009. He moved to RISQ in 2013 on ALM & regulatory topics, and from 2017 was in charge of coordinating relationship with the supervisor for RISQ. Since May 2021 he was heading the Haussmann program on the transformation of the Group’s internal credit model framework.
Jean-Gabriel is a graduate of ESSEC business school and a member of the French Institute of Actuaries.
Yves Cacclin is Head of Commercial Banking, Structured Finance and Corporate Financial Engineering since June 2015.
A graduate of HEC Liège, Yves Cacclin joined Societe Generale Luxembourg in February 1995 as a middle office manager in financial engineering and wealth planning. In 1999, he moved to the front office where he worked as a corporate financial engineer before being named head of department in 2004. Since 2015, he is also in charge of the commercial banking activity.
Frederic Crochard has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Societe Generale Luxembourg in July 2019.
Previously Frederic Crochard was Societe Generale America’s New York-based Finance Director and Head of the Paris-based Financial, Standards and Taxation Control Department at GBIS. He also led the Standards Department for SG CIB. Prior to joining Societe Generale, Frederic had held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Kepler Capital Markets and was Senior Manager with PCW for 4 years in Montreal (Canada).
Valérie Depaux is Head of Legal and Corporate Governance of Societe Generale Luxembourg since October 2023. She is also in charge of the supervision of the bank's governance and comitology and member of the Global Legal Steering Committee. Prior to that, Valérie was Chief Operating Officer of Societe Generale Korea after serving as Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific for the legal department of Societe Generale. Before that, Valerie was based in Paris where she was the head of the Legal team in charge of structured finance. She has over 20 years of professional experience as a lawyer, having started with the Bank in Paris in 2001.
Valerie began her career in private practice in Paris in 1998 after having been admitted at the French bar and has a master’s degree in business and tax law from University of Paris II – Assas.
Aurelie Ederle was appointed Head of Human Resources in November 2021.
Aurelie joined Societe Generale Luxembourg in 2017, in the SGSS business line. She started her career in a managerial role in different departments. She managed several teams based in Luxembourg and Chennai for ten years, before joining the Human Resources department as a Business Partner.
For three years, she accompanied various business and support lines on their HR issues, as well on transversal projects.
Aurelie joined the Executive Committee in November 2021, as Director of Human Resources.
Youenne Le Bris is Head of Operations of Societe Generale Luxembourg since Februray 15th, 2024.
Youenn started his career at SG Luxembourg in 2004 as a Fund Trading Officer. He quickly moved into management roles while developing relationships with SGSS institutional banking and insurance clients.
In 2011, he joined SGSS Client Services team and took charge of migration projects including Global Custody for SGPB Luxembourg and in 2016, he took over the management of the Securities Data Management department.
In April 2020, he expanded his responsibilities with the supervision of SGSS Data business line's value chains (value repository, reconciliation & client repository) and became a member of the Executive Committee of SGSS Luxembourg.
In June 2021, Youenn was appointed Head of Securities Banking Operations, supervising several SGSS value chains: Custody service, Clearing & Settlement services, Middle PE/RE service, Issuer services and Trustee services, as well as Safeguarding Officer of SG Luxembourg.
Bertrand Kauffmann is Head of Payments and Cash Management of Societe Generale Luxembourg, effective September 2, 2024.
Bertrand joined Societe Generale in 1992 within SOGENAL Luxembourg (Societe Generale Alsacienne de Banque). In 1997, he was in charge of managing the treasury team of SOGENAL Luxembourg and Societe Generale Luxembourg. He took the global supervision of treasuries and foreign exchange operations in 2010 for Societe Generale Private Banking. In 2013, he became Global Head of Market Solutions within private banking activities of Societe Generale Luxembourg, and, since October 2019, Digital Transformation Officer. Since 2024, he has managed the teams dedicated to Marketing, Innovation and ESG within the new Global Transaction & Payment Services Strategy and Business Development department.
Bertrand Kauffmann graduated from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP).
Since September 2019, Olivier Lecler is Head of Private Banking activities Luxembourg.
Olivier Lecler started his career in 1992 at INSEE (French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) as editor of the INSEE Bulletin on the macro-economic situation. In 1996, he joined Societe Generale group as Strategic Studies Manager in the Finance and Development Division. In 1999, he was appointed Finance and Development Director of Fimatex, subsidiary which is Boursorama today, of which he became Deputy Managing Director in 2003. Olivier Lecler then joined SGAM group in 2006, firstly as Head of Finance and Operations, then as deputy to the Deputy General Manager, Operations. Until May 2008, he was Chairman & CEO of SGAM Banque, specialised in structuring for alternative investments. In June 2008, Olivier Lecler became Chief Operating Officer of SGAM and CEO of SGAM AI, before being appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Global Investment Management & Services division in 2009. In January 2011, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Private Banking Monaco, then Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Luxembourg in charge of private banking activities in Luxembourg in January 2013.
He was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Private Banking Switzerland in 2015 and Chief Executive Officer in March 2016.
Olivier Lecler is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and ENSAE (Paris Graduate School of Economics, Statistics and Finance).
Emanuele Maiocchi was appointed as Head of SG Luxembourg's Structured Solutions & Mobility Finance (SSM) team in September 2022.
Emanuele has started his career in an Italian bank before joining SG Milan in 2006 to support the set-up and development of SG Milan Asset Based Finance team. As Head of SSM Italy, Emanuele has originated and executed numerous structured asset finance transactions, developing tailor-made financing solutions for SG clients in Italy and abroad.
Mathieu Maurier was appointed Country Manager for SGSS Luxembourg in September 2018.
He has more than twenty five years of experience in the Securities Services industry. He joined Societe Generale in 1994 and held numerous positions, from operations and product development to client services and international sales management. In 2005, he became Country Manager in South Africa. Three years later, he moved to Moscow to develop Securities Services within Rosbank. Since 2011, Mathieu has been in charge of SGSS Global Sales and Relationship Management teams.
Franck Philippe is Systems Director of Societe Generale Luxembourg since December, 18th, 2023.
Franck began his career in 1989 within the Societe Generale group. After various IT positions within the Group, in 2002 he became CIO of institutional custody activities.
In 2005, he was appointed Head of the integration program within Societe Generale, of Unicredit/Pioneer's securities activities across 4 countries, following the acquisition by Societe Generale.
In 2008, Franck became Deputy Head of the International retail banking and SGSS - on securities activities - Joint Venture, and supervised this JV in 10 locations in Africa and Eastern Europe.
In 2010, he took the responsibility for implementing shared services as part of the deployment of a leasing platform common to SG Equipment Finance subsidiaries.
In 2013, he was appointed Global CIO for Societe Generale Securities Services, and then, in 2020, he became Global Deputy COO for GBSU.
Franck hold a DESS in Information system from the University of Renne.
Ghislain de Wasseige was appointed Head of Compliance department of Societe Generale Luxembourg in June 2022.
Ghislain entered Societe Generale Luxembourg in 1997 where he worked in a number of various positions notably in the Private Banking Department as Portfolio Manager, Project Manager and Chief Operating Officer. He joined the Compliance Department in 2020 and served as Deputy Head of the Chief Compliance Officer.
In 2022, he joined the Executive committee of Societe Generale Luxembourg.
Ghislain is graduated from the “Université Catholique de Louvain” as commercial engineer.
